Journalists got acquainted with the reconstruction of water networks during the press tour

Providing the population with clean drinking water is one of the main pillars of the development of any modern society. Especially in rural areas, improving water infrastructure serves to significantly improve not only the sanitary condition, but also the standard of living. In the Saykhunabad district of the Syrdarya region, special attention is being paid to systematic and phased work in this direction.

The Saykhunabad district branch of the Syrdarya Water Supply JSC carried out large-scale work by May 2025. During the press tour, journalists, bloggers and representatives of civil society had the opportunity to get acquainted with the construction and reconstruction projects carried out in various regions of the district.

Nurabad MFY - new pipes, new opportunities
The problem of drinking water has existed in the Nurabad mahalla citizens' meeting in the district for many years. In order to eliminate this problem, from the beginning of 2025, 1,600 meters of new water pipes were laid on 2 streets. As a result, 40 households were provided with centralized clean drinking water for the first time.

The opinions expressed by the population emphasized that the difficulties associated with water shortages, especially in the summer months, have now been completely eliminated and the quality of life has improved significantly.

Urikzor neighborhood - from a problem area to an exemplary area
The work carried out in the Urikzor neighborhood once again demonstrated the strong social impact of infrastructure modernization. 2,600 meters of new drinking water pipes were laid on 2 streets in the area. This provided 42 households with stable clean drinking water.

New water pumps, protected network covers, and monitoring systems were also installed as part of this project. This reduced the level of water loss and increased the efficiency of the system.

Faravan MFY - the needs of the industrial zone and entrepreneurs were taken into account
In Faravan MFY, which is considered one of the promising regions of the district, the work on providing drinking water covered not only the needs of the population, but also the needs of economic entities.

In this area, 1 modern drinking water tower was built in the small industrial zone. Also, 350 meters of new network were laid, which established a stable supply of water necessary for the activities of 3 entrepreneurs. This is important for the development of the local economy and creates favorable conditions for small businesses.

Social significance and future plans
Water is not only an important factor for living, but also the heart of development. Such projects implemented in Saikhunabad district have a positive impact on the social life of the population:

Hundreds of houses are being connected to the central water network;

Sanitary and hygienic conditions are improving;

Children's and women's health is being protected;

The business environment in the local economy is being positively stimulated.

According to the district administration and the management of Syrdarya Water Supply JSC, it is planned to upgrade similar water infrastructure in other neighborhoods in the next stage.

During the press tour, the participants, while reviewing the projects that have been implemented, recognized the achievements in the field of social infrastructure in the district. Most importantly, such initiatives facilitate the daily lives of the population, serve their health and well-being.

Today, Saikhunabad district is boldly taking steps towards renewal and development not only in cotton or silk growing, but also in such important areas as drinking water supply.
