Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Investment Cooperation: Agreement Signed to Build a High-Voltage Cable Production Plant in Tashkent

On October 27–28, 2025, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev paid a working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia aimed at deepening investment and industrial cooperation. The delegation also included Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Shokhrukh Gulamov.
During meetings with the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, Khalid Al-Falih, and senior executives of leading Saudi companies, the parties discussed prospects for expanding collaboration in the fields of industry, energy, infrastructure, healthcare, and labor migration.
As a result of the visit, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and Riyadh Cables Group on the joint implementation of a project to establish a high-voltage cable production facility in Tashkent. The project, worth USD 122 million and with an annual capacity of 24 000 tons, is expected to create 340 new jobs.
In addition, a Practical Action Plan was approved, covering more than 20 joint projects in energy, water supply, information technology, agriculture, and infrastructure.
